A once-off session recorded in the Cork School Of Music celebrating a line-up, favoured by Nat King Cole and Oscar Peterson amongst (surprisingly few!) others.

Original compositions with distinctly classical overtones with imaginative reinterpretations of jazz standards, and funky hard-edged grooves.

I founded Opus Pocus Big Band in 2003 and it has been the source of many friends, fond memories and great musical events.

These recordings made at home during lockdown were a way of maintaining a link to creative meaning and gave a reason to explore solo jazz piano.

This festival was an idea of mine to promote jazz in Waterford and I kept it going yearly between 2015 and 2019. It was a real success and I hope to relaunch with a day-long symposium this year - 2025 with workshops and seminars and a gig or two.
